Apple Device Management for Small Business — London, Berkshire & Surrey

Just bought MacBooks for the team and not sure how to set them up properly? We enrol your Macs in Apple Business Manager, connect an MDM such as Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle or Microsoft Intune, apply sensible security settings, and hand you a fleet you can actually control. One-off setup, or setup plus ongoing management. We cover London, Berkshire and Surrey on-site, and the rest of the UK remotely.

Engineer Promise

You do not need enterprise IT to manage Macs properly.

A 5 to 30 person business can have the same control a large company has, with automated setup, enforced encryption and a clean joiner and leaver process, without a full-time IT team. We set it up once and show you how to run it, or run it for you.

  • Plain-English guidance for founders and office managers
  • One named engineer handles your account end to end
  • Works alongside your existing Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
  • No long contract, and the one-off setup is a fixed price

Why people book this

Business IT that prevents downtime instead of just reacting to it.

Verge Tech manages IT infrastructure for businesses with 5 to 50+ users. We handle helpdesk queries, cloud administration, network maintenance, backup verification and cybersecurity so your team stays productive without worrying about IT failures.

01

New MacBooks, no way to manage them

The team has shiny new Macs but nothing enforces encryption, updates or a screen lock, and setting each one up by hand takes hours.

02

Someone left and still has a company Mac

Without device management there is no quick way to lock, wipe or reclaim a Mac when a staff member leaves. That is a real GDPR exposure.

03

Not sure if you need Jamf or just Intune

Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle, Intune, Apple Business Essentials. The choices are confusing and the wrong one costs money or capability. We match the platform to your actual needs.

What's included

Everything covered, in plain English.

A clear scope of work so there are no surprises after we arrive. Anything outside this list gets quoted before we start.

Apple Business Manager account setup and reseller linking
Automated Device Enrolment so new Macs configure themselves out of the box
MDM platform choice and setup, covering Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle or Microsoft Intune
Security baselines: FileVault encryption, firewall, screen lock, OS update policy
App deployment for Microsoft 365, browsers, VPN and line-of-business apps
New starter onboarding: a ready-to-work Mac on day one
Leaver offboarding: remote lock, wipe or reassign in minutes
Takeovers of Macs already in use, adopted without wiping them

What we set up

Everything a managed Apple fleet needs, in one project.

Every job starts with a short scoping call because device count, whether you run any Windows machines, and your existing Microsoft 365 or Google setup all change the right approach and the cost.

Apple Business Manager

The Apple account that lets your Macs enrol automatically and assigns apps and licences to the business, not to a personal Apple ID.

The right MDM

Jamf or Kandji for Mac-first teams, Microsoft Intune if you already live in Microsoft 365. We set up whichever fits and explain the trade-off.

Security baseline

FileVault disk encryption, firewall on, automatic screen lock, enforced macOS updates and a Cyber Essentials-friendly configuration.

Who this is for

Built around small teams that run on Macs.

Creative and media agencies, design studios and consultancies onboard people quickly, work Mac-first, hold client data and often have short staff cycles. That is exactly where device management earns its cost.

Design and creative agencies

High-spec MacBook Pros for video, design and 3D work, set up identically and kept patched without interrupting a deadline.

Consultancies and professional services

Client data on every laptop means encryption and a fast offboarding process are not optional.

Startups hiring fast

A new starter gets a working, secure Mac on day one instead of losing half a week to setup.

Businesses moving off personal Apple IDs

We migrate company Macs onto Apple Business Manager so apps, licences and data belong to the business.

FAQs

Questions people ask before booking.

Do I need Apple Business Manager, an MDM, or both?

Most businesses need both. Apple Business Manager is the free Apple account that lets Macs enrol automatically and keeps apps and licences with the business. An MDM (Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle or Intune) is the tool that actually applies settings, pushes apps and lets you lock or wipe a device. They work together.

Do I need Jamf, or is Microsoft Intune enough?

If you already pay for Microsoft 365 Business Premium, Intune is included and manages Macs well for most small teams. Jamf or Kandji are worth it when you are Mac-heavy, want deeper Apple-specific controls, or manage iPhones and iPads too. We recommend the right one at the scoping call rather than defaulting to the most expensive option.

Can you set up Macs we have already bought and are using?

Yes. We can enrol Macs that are already in daily use without wiping them or losing anyone’s files. New Macs bought through an Apple Business Manager reseller can also be set to configure themselves automatically the first time they are switched on.

Is this a one-off cost or a monthly service?

Either. Many businesses take the one-off setup as a fixed-price project and run it themselves afterwards using our handover notes. Others add monthly management so we handle patching, new starters, leavers and support. There is no long contract on the one-off option.

What happens when a staff member leaves?

With device management in place you can remotely lock the Mac, wipe the company data, or reassign it to a new starter, usually within minutes. Without it, you are relying on getting the physical laptop back and trusting nothing was copied.

Do you cover my area?

We cover London, Berkshire and Surrey for on-site setup, including central and Greater London, Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, Reading, Guildford and Woking. The setup can also be done entirely remotely anywhere in the UK.
