Why people book this
Home IT support should be patient, practical and jargon-free.
Verge Tech helps households with the technology that interrupts daily life: weak Wi-Fi, printers, slow laptops, email problems, virus warnings, data recovery, smart devices and new device setup. The work is explained clearly and paced properly.
Dead spots in specific rooms
Usually caused by router position, thick walls, interference or cheap extenders. We test before recommending hardware.
Devices keep dropping off
Printers, TVs, phones and laptops may be fighting poor signal, old router firmware or mixed network names.
Mesh installed but still poor
Mesh nodes need correct spacing, wired backhaul where possible, and clean channel planning. Random placement often makes things worse.

What we set up
A network that works in the rooms you actually use.
Good Wi-Fi is not just the speed number from your broadband provider. It is coverage, stability, security and every device joining without drama.
Router placement
We position or reconfigure the router so the signal is not trapped behind furniture, metal, mirrors or thick internal walls.
Mesh design
For larger homes we place mesh nodes properly and avoid common extender setups that halve speed or cause roaming problems.
Smart devices
Ring, Nest, Alexa, smart TVs, consoles and printers get connected to the correct network with passwords documented.
Security basics
We set strong Wi-Fi passwords, guest access where needed, and router admin settings that are not left on factory defaults.
FAQs
Questions people ask before booking.
My Wi-Fi is slow — can you fix it?
Usually yes. Slow Wi-Fi is caused by router placement, channel congestion, interference, or equipment that needs updating. We diagnose the cause before recommending a solution.
What is a mesh Wi-Fi system?
A mesh system uses multiple access points around your home to give consistent Wi-Fi coverage everywhere. Good for larger homes with thick walls or multiple floors. We recommend and install Google Nest, Eero and TP-Link Deco.
Can you connect all my devices to the new network?
Yes. We can connect phones, laptops, tablets, smart TVs, printers and smart home devices to your new network as part of the setup.
Do you work with all broadband providers?
Yes — BT, Sky, Virgin Media, Plusnet, Vodafone, TalkTalk and others. We work with your existing router or recommend a better one if needed.
Should I buy a mesh system before booking?
Not always. A router move or settings fix can be enough. If mesh is the right answer, we can advise what to buy or install a system you already own.
Can you set up a guest network?
Yes. Guest Wi-Fi is useful for visitors, lodgers, short-term lets and smart devices you do not want on the same network as your main computer.
