Is the IT health check genuinely free?+
Yes — no charge, no obligation and no hard sell. We check 20 areas of your IT environment, give you an honest assessment, and only recommend paid work if we find something that genuinely needs attention. Many businesses leave the check with a clean bill of health and no further action needed.
How long does the health check take?+
The initial call takes around 30 minutes. If an on-site visit is needed for network, hardware or server checks, that typically takes 1 to 2 hours. We will be clear about what is needed and only arrange an on-site visit if remote checks are not sufficient.
What do I need to prepare before the check?+
Nothing beyond a list of any IT problems or concerns you already know about. We do the rest. Remote checks need access via a secure screen-share tool. On-site checks need access to your main router and any servers or network hardware.
Will you try to sell me a contract at the end?+
We will tell you what we found and what, if anything, needs attention. If ongoing managed IT support would help and you want to discuss it, we are happy to. But the health check result is yours regardless of what you decide next.
Who carries out the health check?+
A named senior engineer from the Verge Tech team — Microsoft and CompTIA certified, with enterprise IT background behind every visit. You speak directly with the engineer doing the work, not a call centre.
Do you offer the health check outside London?+
Remote health checks are available to businesses anywhere in the UK. On-site visits are available across London, East Berkshire and North Surrey. If you are outside those areas, the remote check covers the majority of what we assess.
